MEDNET Patient Look Up (Record Locator Service, RLS) for HIE, RHIOs

The MEDNET Patient Lookup Service™ is a Record Locator Service (RLS) utilizing a distributed Master Patient Index (MPI) of patient identifying information. This core service directs healthcare providers to the location of patient health records held by different healthcare organizations, while offering full EMR interoperability.

The two core features of the MEDNET Patient Lookup Service are:
1) identifying a patient within a community (HIE or RHIO) and/or in a remote communities
2) identifying the location (communities / healthcare provider facilities) of a patient’s clinical data.

Users search a patient with full or partial demographic information including first name, last name, date of birth, gender and zip code, and other parameters (optionally).  Users have the option for full clinical data retrieval and review with the MEDNET Patient Lookup Service.  MEDNET offers a distributed MPI with intelligent search capabilities, as well as a full MPI implementation option.
